Did You Know?
Bruce McLaren was a racing driver and engineer from New Zealand. During his career he founded his own team, McLaren Racing, which went on to achieve multiple successes in international motorsport. Often described by Enzo Ferrari as one of the “garagisti”, Bruce was closely involved in car development. Whilst testing a Can-Am car at Goodwood in 1970, he chose to drive in place of an unavailable test driver; tragically, an accident occurred and he lost his life. A memorial at Goodwood stands in tribute to his legacy and contribution to motor racing.
